How much weight should a dolly be able to carry?

There is a dolly on sale at the local hardware store, and the box says it will carry up to 200 lbs. I don't know much about them but I would have guessed that a dolly should be able to carry more. Is this a good deal or should I worry that i'm getting what I paid for?
