Could someone explain football to me? (Rules, plays, important players, ect.)?

Hi, I'm Tyler, and i know barely anything about football. i mean i understand you have to get the ball to the other guy's endzone...each touchdown is something like 6 points and a kick is 1. even that's probably wrong! but if someone could give me a descriptive but basic understanding of football, plays, and some important player's names....basically everything! if you could take the time to do that, i would be grateful to give you 10 points!
