I got an abuse notice from my internet supplier. While I was downloading a movie P2P (bit torrent)?

Someone was downloading True Grit (2010) and that was the abuse. Is that why people go to Starbucks and down load there so they are untraceable? Can they only track you when someone downloads from you and not when you are down loading. If you have a second computer and only down load using it with no uploads does that prevent detection? Not exactly the spirit of P2P but you have to do what you do. The downloads are available (P2P) before the movies are available on DVD, unbelievable. As my father said laws are made to be broken.
